‘Virtual Scape Antarctica’ is a multimedia project centred on the breathtaking yet fragile environment of Antarctica. The narrative focuses on the crisis faced by Antarctic penguins due to rapidly melting ice, offering a compelling exploration of humanity’s relationship with the environment.
Project Goals and Challenges
The primary goal of ‘Virtual Scape Antarctica’ is to increase understanding and awareness of the environmental challenges facing Antarctica, particularly the impact of climate change on its wildlife. The project seeks to transform static artwork inspired by Antarctica into a dynamic, interactive experience that allows viewers to engage deeply with the scene and its underlying message.
One of the key challenges was deconstructing the static artwork into components that could be effectively animated and interacted with while maintaining the integrity and impact of the original piece. Another challenge was ensuring that the interactive elements were both engaging and informative, allowing users to explore the narrative in a meaningful way.
Additionally, I created a simple AR webpage with button interactions for this project, themed ‘Take the Penguin Home.’
